1.       Anthurium 

     Originally from South America. The gender name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words ‘Anthos’, meaning ‘flowering’, and ‘Oura’, meaning ‘tail’. Why the name Anthurium, or flowering tail, is appropriate for the way this plant flowers needs no further explanation.
          The diversity in varieties has been greatly increased in recent years through breeding and selection. The Anthurium assortment consists of both pot and cut flower breeds. We currently import more than 100 commercial varieties.
          Due to its long tenability, Anthurium is an excellent export product. More than 80% of the total Anthurium production in India is exported, mainly to European destinations.
    The most ideal growing conditions for Anthurium are characterised by subtropical conditions. They require a minimum temperature of 15°C and a maximum temperature of 35°C.

2.       Gerbera
                 Gerbera is a genus of ornamental plants from the sunflower family (Asteraceae). It was named in honour of the German botanist and naturalist Traugott Gerber.Gerbera is an important commercial flower crop grown throughout the world in a wide range of climatic conditions. It is ideal for beds, borders, pots and rock gardens. The flowers come in a wide range of colors and lend themselves beautifully to different floral arrangements.

3.       Carnation


  Carnations were mentioned in Greek literature 2,000 years ago .Carnations requires well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil, and full sun. Numerous cultivars have been selected for garden planting. Border Carnations may have double flowers with as many as 40 petals. They are popular as boutonnieres, in corsages, bouquets, and in a wide range of floral arrangements.



4.     Phalaenopsis Orchids

    Phalaenopsis is a group name for about 60 types of orchids. The gender name Phalaenopsis means ‘like a (night) butterfly’ and is derived from the Greek word ‘Phalaina’ (night butterfly) and ‘opsis’ (like). It originates from South East Asia. Most types are epiphytes, plants that grow on other plants, trees, stones, etc., without extracting food from them.

     Phalaenopsis is a tropical plant. Temperatures below 15°C and above 34°C must be avoided. For the best growth results an average temperature of 26 to 27°C is required during the seedbed phase, and after the transplant phase this should be 19-21°C. 




5.       Cymbidium Orchids
    Cymbidium boat orchids, is a species in the orchid family Orchidaceae. This genus is distributed in tropical and subtropical Asia  and northern Australia. The larger flowered species from which the large flowered hybrids are derived grow at high altitudes. Cymbidiums are wonderful orchids and are more cold-tolerant than the other species of orchids.
      Cymbidiums are the best known and most widely grown of all orchids which will survive in almost any place. These excellent cut flower which last ups to six weeks. After the flower is bloomed it remains for two months on potted plants. People are fond of cymbidium orchid because of its rich colour, huge foliage and stability. Cymbidium orchid is very costly among all the flowers, according to characteristics, colours and stability. We should  say it is the king of flowers.



6.       Dendobium Orchids
               Dendrobium hybrids are the largest group of orchid sub-tribe possibly thousands of hybrids. They are found from the orient and tropical Asia down to Australia. Dendrobium plants vary in size. They are epiphytic by nature and require good light and ventilation. They can stand temperatures from 7°-35° C, the ideal temperatures are 16°-30° C. The flowers last for 6 to 8 weeks and they make excellent cut flowers. The blooms are all the colors of the rainbow - pinks, lavenders, reds, yellows, oranges and many mixed color combinations
